St James Church Memorial & Thanksgiving Service Sunday 4th November 2012 at 6.30pm
At this service there will be an opportunity to remember and give thanks for the lives of people who were important to you, whether they died recently or long ago. During the service, for anyone who chooses, the name/s of those you are remembering can be read out. If you would like us to do this, please contact the Church Office 812413 by Monday 29th October 2012
St James Church will be open on Saturday 29 September, between 12noon and 5pm. Why not come and enjoy a cream tea or coffee and cake with us whilst visiting the Retro Revival in the Town Centre.
The Parochial Church Council wish to remind all residents of Southam parish, that when they die they have the right to be buried in the Town Churchyard at St James as long as burial space is avaialble.
As of today (September 2012) there are only ten new spaces remaining in the Town Churchyard, which at the present rate of use will last just over twelve months.
Both Southam Town Council and Stratford District Council can act as burial authorities and both were notified that this situation would arise as early as 1996. Although there has been considerable contact since that date neither authority has taken any action to date to provide alternative burial space.
Please contact us via email if you have any queries or comments on his matter.
Mothers’ Union Branch meeting and AGM will take place on:
Thursday 13 September, at 10.00am, beginning with the weekly Communion service.
Coffee will be served at 10.45am and a short business meeting will follow. The usual agenda will include reports on the year passed and the election of officers. To round off the occasion, we have invited Rose Evans to share with us her experiences as a Volunteer at the Olympic Games, working in the Aquatic Centre!
Not to be missed….
