Bees Abroad
Bees Abroad is a small UK-registered charity seeking to reduce poverty through beekeeping. Volunteer Project Managers assess and support beekeeping projects in developing countries worldwide. They use their expertise, working in the local community group to develop a viable project which will become self-sustainable.
St James Church is proud to support the work of Bees Abroad, particularly the work of John and Mary Home in Kenya, who are part of our congregation. John and Mary are currently (October/November 2017) on another visit to Kenya which will include reviewing a number of projects, training, looking at the potential of developing new beekeeping projects and the value addition of hive products, particularly for a disability group, and working with the Maasai community. For information with regard to their 2016 visit please read the Bees Abroad Annual Report for Kenya 2016 for St James.
