HOPE14 Update

What an amazing week we had across our Deanery as the gospel message was shared at 43 events. In addition approximately 1,500 children have heard about Jesus and been blessed by the ministry of Graham Nunn (Through Faith Missions) with his school visits and at the mega messy church!  So much to thank God for!

As a follow up to HOPE14 churches across the deanery are running ‘Just Looking’ courses.  If you attended any of our events and/or would like to know more why not join us ‘Just Looking’ at what Christians believe and discussing whether these beliefs have any relevance today.  Simply pop into church at one of our regular services or contact us at the church office via telephone or email and we will be delighted to have a chat and talk further.

Archbishop of Canterbury agrees to become a Patron of Bees Abroad

Justin Welby Agrees To Become A generic cialis Patron of Bees Abroad

John and Mary Home are thrilled to announce that Justin Welby, our new Archbishop of Canterbury, has agreed to become a patron of Bees Abroad.  The following is a copy of the news release from Lambeth Palace:-

“I am delighted to lend my support to Bees Abroad by becoming a patron. Through its imaginative and wholly practical work, the charity promotes the skills of beekeeping in a way that empowers and educates the communities in which it operates. In investing in people in some of the poorest and under-developed areas, Bees Abroad creates opportunities for this local enterprise to flourish at a sustainable and manageable level. I am sure that those who are trained in beekeeping under Bees Abroad guidance and encouragement will find it an interesting and satisfying experience. I send my best wishes to all involved with the charity in whatever role”.  + Justin Cantuar

Lambeth Palace has a number of bee hives as shown in the following pictures taken by Sister Catherine SLG:-

John and Mary added that “during his gap year Justin taught at a school near Mt Kenya and his knowledge of the poverty in developing countries is due largely to many visits he has made to conflict torn areas in order to use his financial business and reconciliation skills.  The Welby family have also been kept informed of the work of Bees Abroad through our regular communications. The one thing we are very sure of is his awareness of the challenges that are faced in the developing countries and how the work of Bees Abroad can play its part”.
